The base of this sculpture is a lovely piece of blue tinged wood, again salvaged off the little shipwrecked 80 year old fishing boat. It has a natural little bench on which the granny is perched while she mends the net. The Spanish woman who bought this piece, said she remembered her granny mending the nets for her grandfather, a fisherman. It is so nice when something I create from materials found of another time, actually translate into a memory from that time.
